Dr Richard Oxtoby
PhD Psychology

Clinical and Industrial Psychologist, Management Development Consultant, Facilitator, Executive Coach, PCG and Acres of Diamonds.

Dr Richard Oxtoby graduated from the University of Natal with a BSc (Honours) (Cum Laude) and from the University of Cape Town and with an MSc degree (also awarded Cum Laude) before joining the full-time staff of UCT where he spent over 30 years as an academic in the Department of Psychology. During this time he obtained a PhD degree, and qualifications as both a Clinical and an Industrial Psychologist.

Taking early retirement from the UCT Department of Psychology at the end of 1999 he launched a second career as a Management Development Consultant and Executive Coach.

Richard is the author of ten books on various aspects of Psychology and Business (5 of them as joint author with Dr RGA Boland, founder and former director of the UCT Graduate School of Business). The most recent of these books (which are the only ones that are still print) are Releasing the Energy of the Organisation, Achieving Our Full Potential: A Guide to More Effective Living, and Deep Structure Executive Coaching. These books are available through the Acres of Diamonds web-site.

Programme Expertise: Richard specialises in the areas of Executive Coaching, Communication, People Skills, and Team Building.
