Esmé Smith
Facilitator, consultant and coach

Esmé is an experienced facilitator and coach with over 15 years of experience in the field of learning and development, organisational change and organisational development. She has varied experience fulfilling leadership positions and in managing programmes in the NGO, global corporate and consulting environments. Esmé has expertise in analysing stakeholder needs, designing organisational learning programmes, leveraging development opportunities that fast track personal and leadership development and in assessing the impact of learning programmes on bringing about the desired goals. Esmé draws on these experiences to add value to her facilitation of training, consulting and coaching projects with PCG (Acres of Diamonds).

Esmé integrates her business experience and academic learning in facilitating effective learning in training programmes in the areas of Leadership and Management Development, mentoring skills, performance management and ensuring customer service.

Before joining the PCG Associate Facilitators team, she worked for an IT outsourcing company as a learning and development manager responsible for strategy development, ensuring that employees and managers have the right technical, leadership and personal competencies to meet the challenges of a dynamic corporate environment. She was also responsible for aligning organisational initiatives aimed at BBBEE transformation and organisational change. These experiences in conjunction with her consulting background in the chemical, fresh fruit export, retail, NGO and government sectors ensure that the particular learning objectives of training programmes is practical and made relevant to the particular challenges and diversity of clients.

Esmé has completed qualifications in the social sciences, adult learning, business and management administration and education at the universities of Cape Town and Stellenbosch enabling her to be analytical and theoretically sound, challenging and creative in partnering with clients to develop solutions that enable clients to achieve their goals through insight, focused learning and action.
