Brief Course Outline
Day 1
Welcome and Introductions
Module 1: Exploring my current mindset
In this module participants are shown how mindsets play an important role in the journey of personal change and leadership. They are shown the impacts when mindsets are left unaltered. How it at times creates limited thinking and increase the (irrational) fear of the unknown. They will see the benefit of practicing the discipline of creating a more flexible mindset.
Module 2: Comfort Zones
Participants will understand what comfort zones are and the factors and reasons that create them. Through reflection and self evaluation participants will explore their own comfort zones and recognise where these zones may be delaying them from honestly and courageously dealing with particular issues, challenges or opportunities in their life. They will come to realise the futility of overstaying their welcome in these comfort zones and develop the conviction to begin the transformation.
Lunch
Module 3: Revisiting and establishing my Locus of Control
In this module participants will learn what internal and external locus of control is. They will understand how their perception of who has most control over what happens to them can significantly influence their attitude towards being a victim or a creator of their own future. They will also come to identify those areas in their lives in which they are still behaving like victims. They will be encouraged to retake control and mastery of those lost areas. They will realise that blaming circumstances, events, the past and others not only slows them down but turns them into victims. They may not always be able to influence the past or change negative circumstances but they have the power to change how they choose to respond.
Module 4: Self-fulfilling Prophecies
In this module participants will learn about the power of visualisation and explore what images they hold about their future, and what they believe is possible for them. They will explore who and what influences their self belief and separate out the ones that have been destructive projections of others. They will learn to understand how at times thinking precedes feeling and by reframing the thinking the feelings can become more positive, realistic and productive.

Day 2
Check-in and Review
Module 5: Creating balance
Participants will have an opportunity to review key areas and relationships in their life and establish where they may have underinvested or overinvested. They will study the long and short term consequences of these different scenarios on themselves and others. Through a process of careful thought and consideration they will make choices to redraw and renegotiate the boundaries of these relations and situations.
Module 6: Values based living
Participants will come to appreciate that having a clearly articulated set of values (An internal guidance system) will help them to and live with credibility and integrity in all of their decisions and interactions no matter what. They will prioritise their values and make a commitment to live by it. They will also clarify their credo, their life’s mission.
Lunch
Module 7: Understanding and Managing Stress
In this module participants will separate out the things that they can control and that which is out of their control. They will learn how to influence that which they can control. While developing an understanding between good and bad stress they will recognise what triggers their stress and develop coping strategies. They will learn to manage and anticipate their stressors. “When we change the way we look at things then the things we look at changes” Stressors will also be there but we can choose how we want to respond.
Module 8: Beginning the great journey
Participants will come to appreciate that it is hard to break old habits. Just because the workshop, the facilitator or other participants was inspiring will not be adequate energy to sustain their journey of personal transformation. They will be shown how to draw up a plan of action which will assist them through routine and discipline to embed the change they seek and ensure its sustainability.
