Management & Leadership Series
The Art of Mentoring
Brief Course Overview
The idea of Mentoring has been around for a long time. Workplace mentoring relates to everyone - teaching and learning skills in the workplace, it’s a shared responsibility. Today it is growing in practice as a management development tool to ensure a competent talent pipe-line supply for organisations especially in areas of growing demand. If applied with commitment throughout the organisation it can revolutionise the culture. In this program participants will discover the essentials of Mentoring, how to do it and why it is necessary in today's world of work.

Module 5
In this module the participant explores the concept of self awareness and how this will have an important impact and influence on the mentoring relationship. To develop the skills of self-awareness the participant will use the Johari’s Window model and come to understand the impact of improving interpersonal communication. They will be taught how to be aware of their blind spot and be open to feedback. Essentially, participants will come to see the value and practice the skill of self disclosure and being open to feedback in order to grow and develop.
